Dr Peter Arnold, Chief Executive
Peter took up his position as Chief Executive of Newcastle Science City in June 2008 and brings significant experience to the role as a senior research and development leader.
Finance & Performance Team
Phil Pattison, Finance Director & Company Secretary
As Finance Director and Company Secretary of Newcastle Science City, Phil's responsibilities include ensuring strong financial reporting and corporate governance.
Norma Hope, Finance Manager
Supporting Phil Pattison, Norma manages the day to day NSC accounts and financial reporting.
Emma Shorman, Performance Manager
Emma oversees responsibility for the delivery of the company's funding contracts and manages the monitoring and performance management system.
Business Support & Partnerships Team
Estelle Chatard, Programme Director
As a Programme Director, Estelle is reponsible for the management of the Newcastle Science City objectives and targets and the strategic planning for Newcastle Science City. Estelle is currently on maternity leave, during which time Caroline Findlay is acting up into her role.
Caroline Findlay, Programme Manager
Caroline represents, plans, delivers and controls the programme of external business development activities to meet NSC objectives and provides leadership to ensure that projects are managed and delivered effectively and efficiently.
Simon Green, Project Manager – Business Development & Support
Simon manages and delivers a suite of business development activities ensuring NSC outputs and outcomes are achieved.
Vivek Unnikrishnan, Business Support Manager – Newcastle Innovation Machine
Vivek works closely with the in-house innovation managers and external entrepreneurs NSC supports in their business creation projects by providing business development support. Vivek also handles the day-to-day management of the NIM project portfolio.
Education, Community & Skills Team
Karen Marshall, Education Manager
Karen oversees the Education and Community Engagement project, ensuring that the work delivered by Newcastle Science complements the city and region wide strategies.
Nick Powell, Community Engagement Project Manager
Nick co-ordinates a host of community engagement projects designed to raise awareness of Newcastle Science City and encourage participation in a range of science-related activities.
Communications Team
Helen McLoughlin, Head of Marketing & Communications
Helen oversees responsibility for all communications activity undertaken including advertising, PR, marketing and website development, ensuring that NSC messages are communicated at a local, national and international level.
Office Administration & HR Team
Liz Joyce, Human Resources Manager
Liz develops and implements the Human Resources strategy and Human Resources plan for NSC.
Julie Henderson, Personal Assistant to the CEO and Directors of NSC
Julie’s role is to provide a PA support service to the CEO and a secretarial service to the Senior Management Team.
Jo Soulsby, Office Manager
Jo manages all office and administrative procedures and supports the team with event management and procurement activities.
