How to feel better and improve your sports training practices

What could be done to improve your training-practice, have fun and contribute to your plans for personal development?

Newcastle Science City and Gateshead Council would like to invite you to the Sports-improvement – Insight Generation event on 26th January 2010 at Gateshead Stadium.   This event is targeted at sports and fitness enthusiasts and their coaches and trainers.  Its aim is to answer the question “what could YOU do to help yourself train better, have fun and improve continuously – and HOW could your coaches and trainers help you address your needs?”.

The aim of this event is to generate market insights in the area of sports, exercise and well being, and explore ways that self-help and professional training could work better together. Some examples of sports experiences where training could be improved are: attendance; the preparation-acting-resting sequence; nutrition and hydration; communication and feedback; tactics; spotting individual strengths and helping minimise weaknesses; building on role models.

The outcomes of this event are:

  • To find out what works and what doesn’t; Identify best practice and discuss opportunities to better exploit real needs and deliver quick value added solutions
  • To match the regional sports agenda with the gathering momentum around science based businesses
  • To provide  networking and information exchange between the science and business communities and sports practitioners and professionals
  • To provide  attendees with opportunities to gather market intelligence to inform new research ideas and encourage New Product Development
