Building Success Stories – Get pitch perfect with our improvisation experts!

16th March 2011 – 17th March 2011
The Exhange, 32 Time Central, Gallowgate
Newcastle upon Tyne

An improvisation expert who has helped develop the talents of Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones will help North East entrepreneurs master their own performances with an innovative event organised by Newcastle Science City.

Paul Z Jackson, who started out as a journalist before turning to improvisation and comedy, was a script-editor and senior producer with BBC Radio 4, where he introduced dozens of writers to their first professional contracts. Paul uses this vast experience to deliver courses and development programmes in strategy, leadership, teamwork and creativity around the world.

He will turn his attention toward helping the region’s innovators take their ideas to market when he hosts an interactive and entertaining two day workshop entitled Building Business Success Stories alongside fellow applied improvisation expert Belina Raffy from innovation consultants Maffick and a team of regional business experts. Belina lectures at the Cranfield School of Management on applied improvisation and metaphor and works with blue chip companies on an international level to improve performance, collaboration and creativity.

The workshop is designed to help entrepreneurs fine-tune their investor pitch and commercialise their ideas and introduces attendees to a valuable network of like-minded people, resources and management tools.

As a regional SME or entrepreneur, this workshop will help you to:

  • Understand the commercialisation lifecycle for innovative ideas and technologies
  • Improve and fine tune your investor pitch
  • Develop an immediate action plan to commercialise your idea

You will also develop a network of like-minded entrepreneurial colleagues and gain access to invaluable resources and management tools.

How is it delivered?

The workshop is highly interactive with plenty of opportunity for discussion and application of ideas to your own circumstances.  You will experience an engaging mix of presentations, activities, reflection and application of concepts to case studies and to real-life issues.
