Morpeth businessman welcomes new Northumberland networking event
Morpeth businessman Charles Sellers was one of the first to strike up a conversation over a coffee cup when Informal Friday was set up in July 2011.
Formerly a professor of software innovation at the University of Sunderland and now a partner at The Business Acceleration Team, with a background in change management and ICT, Charles is a regular attendee at the city centre First Friday events.
He warmly welcomed Science City’s idea to extend the informal networking concept to Northumberland to enable more rural businesses to benefit from the unique environment.
He said: “First Friday is without doubt the best networking event I’ve ever attended and I make sure I never miss a meeting of it. The quality of the attendees is extremely high and it brings together people with similar skills, interests and experience to provide them with opportunities to work together and learn from each other.
“By attending I have established an excellent professional network, a number of career opportunities have developed, I have become chairman of a business I took an interest in and I have helped provide direction to new friends and contacts.
“Informal Friday offers a brilliant opportunity for Morpeth businesses to experience a similar networking environment and find out how they can be connected to others working in a similar field.”View all Case Studies relating to:
