Alastair Campbell to reveal the secrets of decision making

Spin-doctor Alastair Campbell will take centre stage at Newcastle City Library next month to share his experience of high level decision making with the region’s business community.

The event, taking place on Wednesday, March 14, is part of Newcastle Science City’s hugely successful ‘The Science of’ series, a programme of events supporting the city’s efforts to bring the first regional Business and IP Centre to Newcastle.

Campbell – writer, communicator and strategist and arguably the most influential of all Government spin doctors – will give insight into what makes a strong leader and how making the right decision swiftly can reduce pressure for business leaders.

The event is designed to inspire attendees, as well as giving a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of Number 10 along the way.

He will be joined by fellow guest speaker Professor Kenny Coventry, Professor of Cognitive Science and director of the Cognition and Communication Research Centre at Northumbria University, who will dispense the theoretical science of decision making alongside practical examples.

Simon Green, programme manager at Newcastle Science City, said: “This event is not to be missed - Alistair Campbell is a hotly sought after speaker with a wealth of knowledge to share with and motivate the region’s science and technology companies.

“At a time when inspiration and business support are vital for the region’s entrepreneurial community, our guest speakers will merge the highly topical subject of decision making with science, business and personal development into their sessions, which are sure to stimulate a great deal of thought and debate amongst the audience.”

Aimed at company leaders, managers and business owners in the North East, the event is free to attend and will take place at the Newcastle City Library from 6.30pm.
